As we are in the first quarter of 2026, the department emphasizes that all individuals wishing to provide the following operations or services must be knowledgeable about and comprehend the application processes and requirements necessary to obtain a valid license for operation.
- Provide waste collection and transport service
- Operating a landfill site
- Operate a controlled waste dump
- Operate a waste transfer station with the capacity to store more than 5 litres of liquid waste or over 1 tonne of solid waste
- Operating a recycling Centre
- Operate a waste treatment plant
- Operate a composting plant capable of processing 5 or more tonnes per day
- Operate a waste incinerator
The half-day training has enabled participants to gain a better understanding of the DEPC & Shefa Provincial Government PWOs License and permit application processes, as well as the requirements that must be fulfilled. Considering ongoing waste management challenges such as littering and illegal dumping, the department is committed to enhancing measures to maintain a clean environment. Consequently, this training empowers PWOs to better grasp their roles and responsibilities when delivering these services.
